When a player retires, their whole career is summed up as a single score and recorded on the ending screen and the ranking. Knowing how the score is calculated lets you decide from the start how to shape your career.
Score Formula
Retirement score = Worlds titles ×40 + MSI titles ×20 + EWC titles ×8 + league titles ×8 + Reserve titles ×4 + Youth titles ×2 + Season MVPs ×8 + peak OVR + asset score
| Item | Points each | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| World Championship title | 40 | The biggest score. |
| MSI title | 20 | Only available while in a top-division league. |
| EWC title | 8 | The Spring champion and last year’s champion are invited. |
| League Title | 8 | A title in your league’s (LCK etc.) first team. |
| Reserve League Title | 4 | A title in a Reserve league such as LCK CL. |
| Youth League Title | 2 | A title in a Youth league such as the Challengers League. |
| Season MVP | 8 | Awarded to one player each season. |
| Peak OVR | Added as is | The highest OVR you reached in your career. |
| Assets | +1~+40 | The sum of points from assets bought in the shop. |
For example, with 2 Worlds titles, 1 MSI, 4 league titles, 2 MVPs, a peak OVR of 95 and 30 asset points, you get 80 + 20 + 32 + 16 + 95 + 30 = 273 points and receive the “Legend” grade.
Ending Grades
- 200+ points: Legend
- 150+ points: Legendary Player
- 110+ points: Top League Player
- 85+ points: Solid Pro
- Under 85 points: Disappointing Career
Peak OVR already accounts for 70–90 points, so even without a single title, a high OVR makes “Solid Pro” easy to reach. Raising your grade ultimately comes down to titles. Note that endings where your computer is confiscated as a student, or where you fail to go pro by the deadline, score 0 points.
International Qualification Rules
MSI, EWC and Worlds are only open to players in a top-division league.
- MSI: the top teams from the Spring Split playoffs qualify. 2 teams each for LCK, LPL, LEC and LCS, and 1 team each for LCP, CBLOL and LLA.
- EWC: the Spring champion and the previous year’s EWC champion are invited. If that isn’t your team, the next-best Spring teams fill the spots.
- World Championship: the Summer champion gets the #1 seed, and the teams with the most season points across both splits qualify. 3 teams each for LCK, LPL, LEC and LCS, 2 for LCP, and 1 each for CBLOL and LLA. A region that reached the MSI final gets one extra slot.
International strength is highest for Korea (LCK) and China (LPL), and relatively weaker for Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific, Brazil and Latin America. In terms of title odds alone, playing for a strong team is better, but a strong team in a weaker region has the advantage of being able to go for the league title more easily.
Strategies to Maximize Your Score
- Push your OVR as high as possible in your growth years. Peak OVR counts 1:1 toward your score, and a high OVR raises your title odds too.
- Transfer to strong teams. With high team trust you receive offers from better teams, and your Worlds odds rise.
- Don’t give up without titles. League titles and MVPs are 8 points each, so stacked up they can rival a single Worlds title.
- Turn spare money into assets. Buying all seven assets gives +100 points.
- Choose when to retire. Keep playing while you have a shot at a title, and if you’ve entered decline with no hope, retire to lock in your asset score.
The top 50 retired players by score appear on the ranking page. If you’ve reached a high score, make a link with “Share” on the ending screen and show your friends.
