In your amateur years before going pro, money is growth. Academies, gear and academy training all cost money, and that money comes from part-time jobs and allowance. But students aged 19 and under have one more resource: their parents’ trust. This article explains how to manage both together.
Your Starting Line Depends on Your Family Finances
| Finances | Starting cash | Base allowance |
|---|---|---|
| Tight | ₩300k | ₩200k |
| Average | ₩800k | ₩400k |
| Comfortable | ₩2M | ₩700k |
The allowance you actually receive is set within 70–130% of the base amount. With comfortable finances you can buy a piece or two of gear from the start, but with tight finances you have to start with part-time jobs.
Parents’ Trust: It’s Over at Zero
Trust during your student years starts at 70 and recovers by 10 at the end of each season. If it reaches 0, your computer is confiscated and you get a hidden ending where your career is over (there are several, such as the perfect-CSAT med student, the civil servant and the fried chicken shop owner). Trust is reduced by the actions below.
- A successful allowance beg: trust -12 (-8 if finances are comfortable)
- The “Queue Up First” event: trust -10
Conversely, choosing to study in the exam-season event raises trust by 12. Solo queue grinding doesn’t reduce trust.
Begging vs. Asking for Allowance
You can try for allowance once a week with a 50% chance of success. If you fail, you get no money and just lose a week. The difference between the two is talent.
- When you have talent (potential grade A or S): “Ask Your Parents” appears, and even on success your trust isn’t reduced, because your parents believe in your talent.
- When you don’t have talent: “Beg for Allowance” appears, and your trust is reduced on success.
You can keep begging even with low trust. But a success when trust is near 0 triggers the ending right away, so if trust drops below 30 it’s safer to stop begging and recover trust through part-time jobs or the end of the season.
Part-Time Jobs: A Steady Income
You can work part-time from age 15. One of convenience store, PC café, delivery, flyers or café is picked at random, and each shift earns ₩600k–1M and costs 15 condition. Working a lot also earns you the “Pro Part-Timer” perk (part-time income +20%). A week of part-time income is usually worth about the same as a week of training, so use it when you truly need money.
The Full Support Event
Players with high potential, average or better finances and an age of 15–16 may get the “Your Parents’ Full Support” event. If you accept gratefully, you get a large allowance and no longer need to worry about your parents’ trust. If you say you’ll take just the thought, your Mental goes up but you don’t get the support.
Examples by Situation
- Tight finances and average talent: With only ₩300k to start, you can’t buy gear. Before 15, focus on training and rest so you don’t miss the high-efficiency years, and from 15 buy your first gear with part-time work. Save your trust and beg for allowance only when you’re in a pinch.
- Comfortable finances and talent: You can buy gear or an academy right away with the ₩2M you start with, and receive allowance through “Ask Your Parents” without losing trust. The full support event may also come at 15–16. With less money to worry about, maximize your training sessions and make the most of your growth years.
Recommended Play
- If you have talent, use “Ask Your Parents” to save money.
- If you don’t, make part-time work your main income from age 15 and beg only in a pinch.
- Keep trust above 30; it recovers by 10 at the end of each season.
- When you’ve saved up, spend it on gear (training efficiency) or academies and training (to prepare for the deadline).
