For Support, three stats — Vision & Macro (30%), Teamfights (22%) and Mental (22%) — make up 74% of OVR. Mechanics counts for only 8%, so slow hands don’t matter, and Vision & Macro and Mental, which decline less with age, add up to over half of OVR. That makes it the role that lasts longest late in the career.
The Stat Ratios That Make Up OVR
| Stat | Ratio | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Vision & Macro | 30% | The most important. The highest weight of any role. |
| Teamfights | 22% | Fight judgment. |
| Mental | 22% | A much higher weight than other roles. |
| Champion Pool | 10% | On the low side. |
| Mechanics | 8% | The lowest. |
| Laning | 8% | The lowest. |
Laning and Mechanics add up to only 16%, so skipping their training doesn’t hurt OVR much. A Support’s efficiency comes from being able to redirect the training time for those two stats to Vision & Macro and Mental.
Training Priorities
- Vision & Macro: put about 40% of your training here.
- Mental and Teamfights: train them alternately. Mental affects not only the 22% of OVR but also the chances of bad events and gear breakage.
- Champion Pool occasionally.
- You can almost skip training Laning and Mechanics.
With low Mental, the chance of the event where you smash your gear in anger rises sharply (about 10% at Mental 50, about 25% at 30). A Support trains Mental a lot anyway, so even with gear investments the chance of an accident is lower than for other roles.
Gear and Seasonal Items
- Monitor: raises Vision & Macro training efficiency. At tier 3 (+16%) it’s the most valuable gear for a Support (₩5M · ₩20M · ₩70M).
- Dedicated Analyst: Vision & Macro and Champion Pool training +30%. A Support’s weight on those two stats is 40%, giving the second-best efficiency after Jungle.
- Keyboard: helps Teamfight training, but Laning has a low weight, so its efficiency is lower than the monitor’s.
- Mouse: Mechanics is only 8%, so it’s the lowest priority.
Perk Recommendations
Map Leader (Vision & Macro ×24) gives Vision & Macro training efficiency +12% and team strength +0.3. It’s the first perk a Support gets. Iron Mind (Mental ×24) adds Mental training efficiency +12% and also raises the chance of blocking bad events like slumps, wrist pain and burnout by 20 percentage points. It’s doubly useful for a Support with a high Mental weight. Finish with Fight Architect (+12%, team strength +0.3) for Teamfights.
Example Season Routine (ages 14–17)
- Weeks 1–3: Vision & Macro, Mental, Rest
- Weeks 4–6: Vision & Macro, Teamfights, Rest
- Weeks 7–9: Mental, Vision & Macro, Rest
- Week 10: Teamfights
That’s 3 Vision & Macro, 2 Mental and 2 Teamfight sessions. In seasons when you’ve hired the analyst, raise the share of Vision & Macro and Champion Pool training.
Late Career and Aging: Support’s Strength
After 27, at the end of each season Vision & Macro and Mental only fluctuate between -1 and +1, while the other stats fall by 1–2 each season. These two stats make up 52% of a Support’s OVR, so their OVR drops far less than that of an ADC (18%), Mid (23%) or Top (23%) of the same age. You can keep an OVR close to your peak into your 30s, so you can chase titles for a long time and keep your salary high.
However, stats that have reached 90 or above decline by an extra 1. If you raised Vision & Macro above 90, consider investing in rehab in the Aging Curve event to slow the decline.
